Theres some canon dispute between the bill and ted comics and the movies because the comics call their daughters their sons and that was never officially retconned so heres my take: because the comics only show billie and thea as babies, theres a 25 year gap that is totally unaccounted for. We dont know what happened, and babies dont even have a concept of gender yet, so their dads calling them william and theodore isnt problematic from a moral or canonical standpoint, because they literally couldnt have known anything concrete yet. Therefore, wilhelmina logan and theadora preston are both trans women, and bill and ted are supremely supportive, proud, and loving fathers. In this essay I will
Billie and Thea
Characterization
Billie's Body Language
I am hopelessly endeared by Billie's physicality - weird, gawky combination of stiffly held and loose-limbed. She feels like one of the only characters on TV that I could point to and go "she moves just like me", and I love to see it. I don't know how many articulated thoughts I could drum up on the subject, but I love how she holds her arms away from her body so they don't touch her sides, and the way she shuffles and sways from side to side when she stands, and the stiff way she holds her arms even when she's absolutely Rocking Out in the final scene of the movie, and the way she clenches and flexes her hands when she's stressed. I also love her weird little grin and the way she bites down below her lip when she's excited <3 More characters in movies need to start doing it like her.
