Personal Episode Summaries / Notes

My own personal notes and summaries on the episodes of Marble Hornets, originally compiled in a dedicated notebook. Decided to go ahead and transcribe them on here in case anyone else might find them helpful or interesting!

They're largely summaries of the events of each upload and notes about character behavior, intended to make it easier for me to keep track of which tape is which and characterization, though the format and content shifted slightly the longer I spent working on them.

 

 

 

 

 


  • INTRO: The filming of the Marble Hornets film project took place over 3 months in the summer of 2006. The set of which was less than a mile away from Alex's house. Jay was also a film student in college.
  • ENTRY #1: Footage from inside of Alex's college house, the audio of which was either corrupted or deliberately removed. The Operator idly examining the structure of Alex's porch remains one of the funniest Operator appearances in this whole series.
  • ENTRY #2: Jay assumes this tape takes place before the footage from Entry #1. Alex is talking about a walk he took his dog on, they saw a man standing under a streetlamp, and something about the guy seemingly unnerved both Rocky and Alex. Despite his own unease, Alex takes the time to drive all the way back to investigate, but the guy is nowhere to be seen.
  • ENTRY #3: Jay notes that most of his tapes have absolutely nothing to do with the Marble Hornets film project - Alex seemingly left the majority of the actual project's tapes with Tim, intentionally or unwittingly - and instead are largely the surveillance footage Alex was filming of himself. The contents of this entry are cut from 12 of Jay's tapes. Mostly footage of Alex drawing, walking around the woods, buying tapes, driving, etc. No actual footage of the Operator, but a lot of evidence of Alex's increasing paranoia.
  • ENTRY #4: Another tape with no audio. Alex walking through a children's playground - I think this is one of the very few instances of seeing the Operator ambulating instead of just standing still. Jay suspects that Alex intentionally removed the audio from these tapes
  • ENTRY #5: Footage of Jay accompanying Alex on location scouts, lots of audio distortion on the tape. The few glimpses we have of how much Alex clearly cared about the project are so sad to me - most of the other characters kind of make fun of it, but the whole thing was clearly a labor of love on Alex's part. First glimpse of the Red Tower. Jay also notes the visual tearing in this tape as well as footage from previous entries.
  • ENTRY #6: Jay speculates that this footage is a continuation of the footage from Entry #1. The Operator is still lurking around Alex's house - another case of it moving around as it stares through his windows. Despite the fact that Jay notes it as a continuation of the earlier event, this is also a regular occurance throughout this period of Alex's life.
  • ENTRY #7: A tape that was solely dedicated to the Marble Hornets film project. Alex trying to record Brian's monologue in the car (Note: there is at least one other person present Outside of the car, but Alex never refers to them by name) when the Operator interrupts by lurking in the background. "Stuck in a loop of unhappiness" line :( . Jay comes to his final conclusion that Alex was being stalked.
  • ENTRY #8: Alex is drawing and seems to react to something and immediately moves to shut his lamp off; Jay notes that the rest of the tape is too dark to see, meaning he never turned the lights back on, and was possibly hiding throughout the remainder of the tape. Jay left a note in the description of this one: "Short entry. Doesn't seem like Alex."
  • ENTRY #9: Same flavor - the first thing Jay notes after the title card is that he's "never" seen Alex act the way he does in the follow raw footage from Marble Hornets, which is the infamous "you brought your dog" clip - the anger and impatience is out of character enough for Jay to note it specifically.
  • OPERATOR: Second totheark upload - Lakes In Stillness will Take Every life of the Night (LISTEN)
  • ENTRY #11: Again Alex seems like he might feel slightly safer with the lights off - he turns them off to go downstairs to look out the windows and stuff and then turns them back on to sleep. Interesting inversion of the expected use of lights.
  • ENTRY #12: Jay notes that Alex is acting more like himself in this one; organized, tone light, seems easy-going, laughing around a little with the others.
  • ENTRY #13 / EXIT: If Brian was the one filming Jay in EXIT when he'd left Alex's footage in Entry #13 it means he was already paranoid and following Alex around. That OR Alex had invted Brian along for scouting and Jay just doesn't remember the day well enough (OR that Brian was just going to meet them there and Jay just wasn't told, and Alex running into the Operator in #13 threw that whole day off and ruined their plans, so the meeting never happened). EXIT is also the WHEREIS THEARK upload.
  • ENTRY #14: This tape is the one Alex filmed, rewound, and filmed over; stigmata. Also when Jay seems to switch from passively going through old tapes to actively searching for Alex. Sept 23, 2009 - about 3 months after he started the project on June 20, 2009.
  • ENTRY #15: Jay probably set up the meeting with Tim within like a week, high efficiency. Tim notes that he didn't know Alex too well, but since he and Brian were friends, Tim wound up unvolved in the film project. Tim lived next to Brian, but neither of them lived near Alex (Jay says Alex kind of lived off in the middle of nowhere). Tim fidgets with the papers the whole time. Tim didn't know Alex moved, and hasn't heard from Brian in "Quite a while" (judging by the phrasing, I'd say they stuck together for a while after the movie project ended, since Tim doesn't seem to associate Brian's radio silence with Alex's departure or the college movie. Did they graduate together?)
  • ADVOCATE: 10-12-09, about 9 days after Jay posted the interview with Tim. Brian is now in danger.
  • ENTRY #16: 10-16-09, Jay gets an anonymous tip about Brian (who?). Goes to his house in the nighttime and breaks in becuase Jay has absolutely no chill by any definition of the word. Even though he's ostensibly in Brian's house, he calls for "Alex", then Brian; what made him think Alex would be there? Because he and Brian were friends?
    • Quality of Life Notes - Brian's main floor is covered in magazine clippings and coupons. He has his mattress in his hall closet with some blankets and seems to be sleeping in there. Power is out, water bottle in his sleep closet (some visual tearing in the closet; Jay has a bad coughing fit right after leaving it). Piles of trash bags left inside. Upstairs doors mostly locked from the inside. Dried blood in the upstairs sink (a lot of it) and several pill bottles, Alex's drawings, a spent bullet casing.
  • ADDITION: 10-21-09 - footage of Jay in the house. Description : //eyes\\ . SEE YOU in the video text
  • ENTRY #17: 11-02-09 - Tim asking Alex who helps him write the dialogue, lol. Brian is absent; Tim says he left to get snacks from the store or something. Tim seems a little off; Jay is older than everyone else, Operator is visible through the window - no one acknowledges it. Tape is correupted to the end. Present Jay has no memory of that day.
  • SIGNAL: 11-05-09 - Video says "COME BACK", description says "again"
  • ENTRY #18: 11-10-09 - Jay's already gone back to the house. He'd unlocked the front door (i think?) but it's locked when he goes back. A lot of paper shreddings in the place now. Brian's furniture looks trashed and overturned. Slender doll is found. A masked Tim sprints at and tackles Kay, winds up seizing. Chases Jay off again when Jay tries to take his mask off. Jay wakes up in his car off the road the next morning.
  • MESSAGES: 11-21-09 - TELL US, YOU HAVE BEEN KEEPING, SECRETS. SMILE FOR THE CAMERA - teasing Tim's face.
  • ENTRY #19: 11-25-09 - the first time Jay has acknowledged TTA's uploads in a video (First acknowledgement seems to be on July 23 on Twitter). Confesses he's been filming himself 24/7 for "about a month now". The clips are from 2 days after he returned from the house in #18. Jay also sleeps with the lights on. Tim breaks in and his presence seems to distort the camera. Jay is unaccounted for for roughly 3 hours. Jay hasn't left his apartment since finding that footage, but wants to move locations.
  • RETURN: 12-02-09 - the missing footage of Jay from Entry #19, and the Operator in his hallway. In footage text reads "FOUND YOU". 91 in description.
  • ENTRY #19.5: 12-09-09 - Inventory check. Label torn off the pill bottle and the pills that were inside are now missing. Did Tim steal them back or did Jay take them himself? Bullet casing also missing - Jay speculates Tim stole that one. "SEES ME AT THE TOWER" note unlocked. Jay is going through the last of his tapes now.
  • ENTRY #20: 12-15-09 - Alex and Jay doing "behind the scenes" footage while they wait for Tim. Alex moving Brian's paintings around to get a better scene - "Brian has excellent taste in art". Someone is filming, but it isn't Brian, because even though they're at his house, no one is actually sure where he's at. The person behind the camera never speaks or is referred to by name. Jay's proud announcement of "I am the script supervisor" and Alex's "I'm very proud of him" joke. Tape distortion (note: possibly why Brian is absent?). Tim is late and clearly not feeling well - static when he's on film; has a huge coughing fit off screen. When Tim excuses himself, Alex goes to make sure all his lines are "highlighted for him" to make sure things are going smoothly so they don't have to stretch things out and make Tim feel worse. Alex frets over him a little too.
  • VERSION: 12-17-09 - Confirmation of Jay's tower speculation at the end of the previous entry. Word salad start letters spell out 'PRECEDES TREES', which is an anagram for 'DEEPER SECRETS'. 'WAITING FOR YOU' in plain text in the footage as well. 'S' in the description.
  • ENTRY #21: 12-21-09 - Jay's trek to the red tower. Hole that causes audio distortion. Operator symbol on the side of the tower. Jay goes inside and climbs to the top, finds a metal case with a tape. Falls off the fucking tower first though.
  • ENTRY #22: 12-22-09 - the tape he found in the previous entry. Seth and Alex out in the middle of the night, in some abandoned building. They find blood (dried) in several places, Seth collapses? or Alex/someone attacks him. Alex giving the "Everyone is gone" speech at home. Alex says he has the tape, but Seth's camera is gone and he can't remember anything from that night. Says he thought running away would make him safe, but that everything has just gotten worse. Doesn't say whose house he's at, but the way he says "this house" makes me think it's not his? Confirmed when he says he's going back to "his home" to burn all the tapes.
  • ATTENTION: 01-11-10 - hey, palindrome date. "RETURN TO US", "WAKE UP", "AWAITING YOUR ARRIVAL", and the tower.
  • ADMISSION: 01-16-10 - red distorted footage of someone walking in a hallway. "THERE ARE DOORS UNOPENED".
  • ENTRY #23: 01-29-10 - Jay goes back to the house in daylight. Some of Brian's furniture might be back in place? Upstairs footsteps; doors still locked, blood in sink gone. Hallway distortion entry. Brina has a framed Operator symbol lol. Jay winds up in the building Seth was attacked in. Has his first in-person encounter with the Operator, which ruins his camera, and he swears off going to the house and doesn't think he wants to continue.
  • WARNING: 02-03-20 - Think they might be making fun of Jay's title cards from the intro video actually lol. 'EYES OPEN' 'STAY AT HOME' 'BE ALONE' 'SMILE FOR THE CAMERA' 'REGARDS' 'SMILE FOR DEATH'. Description reads "failure nigh"
  • ENTRY #24: 02-17-10 - Shots of Jay's messy ass apartment. He walks out of his bedroom, doesn't appear on any other camera, and stays missing for two hours.
  • ######: 03-05-10 - "We will wait for you no more. Control is being taken away from you. From the start it's been a game for us - not anymore. I'm coming for you, and you will lead me to the ark"
  • Entry #25: 03-25-10 - Jay's been in a hotel. Someone called him to tell him to check the news about his apartment building being burned down.
  • Entry #26: 04-19-10 - Jay's been moving locations out of paranoia, which has been keeping him from thinking about the tapes, which has improved his overall condition. He's quitting the project, moving out of state. But first received the 41810 text - the date a package was delivered to his hotel room. The tape has what may be old or new footage - we see the Skull Masked figure being filmed through the peep hole of a door, and footage of someone's back in Night Vision mode. This might be current footage of Jay sneaking around, but looking at it again, I think it's actually old film project era footage of Tim, possibly at the old hospital location (It's hard to tell based off of body type here, but the hair looks slightly longer than Jay has ever kept his, and notably the person is not holding a camera). When Amy finds the camera and begins filming ib 04-04-10, Alex is watching Jay's YouTube channel, confirming he's been keeping up with everything Jay has been up to. Alex talks like they probably moved after college. They encounter the Operator and flee the house. The package had a return address, and despite his vow to quit, Jay decides to go find him. "I thank you for the help".

  • ENTRY #27: 11-23-10 - Jay wakes up in the new hotel with no memory of the past seven months. Has the go-pro now. Unfamiliar with the area he's in. The room was booked for one day but he extends it. Passes Jessica but they don't talk or acknowledge each other. Jessica apparently also renewed her room independent of Jay.
  • ENTRY #28: 12-03-10 - Goes through the hotel room looking for hints. KEY. Can't get into the safe; Jay was probably born in 1985. Runs into Jessica again, tells her the camera is for a documentary about hotels. His name sounds familiar to her, they both act paranoid with each other lol. Thudding noises from her room at night.

  • ENTRY #29: 12-16-10 - file name 'noentry'; Jay's footage of the moments immediately after Alex killed that stranger - blood in the tunnel and on the rock, body in the corner. Previous Jay had the sense not to upload it; Present Jay does not.
  • ENTRY #30: 12-21-10 - Jessica has her own camera distortion, but she helps him bring his groceries in. Tells her he's stuck because his house is being rennovated. She tells him she got kicked out. She has a job, though, or at least says she does. Jay tries to check on her re:thudding, but she's been asleep.
  • ENTRY #31: 01-04-11 - Jay finds his way to Rosswood. It rains. Jay behaves strangely in front of a stranger lol. Jessica confrontation; she's so prickly, I love her. Jay goofs it and now tells her his job relacted him. She asks about memory loss and he lies. Jay Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss moments.
  • ENTRY #32: 01-12-11 - "time has run out" in desc. Jessica confrontation pt2. She's SO prickly; i LOVE her. She admits to her own memory loss, coughs, losing time, insomnia, sleepwalking, headaches, nightmares. They leave their joined door open, Jay plans to tell her everything. This event happens ON this date - Jay uploads it right before heading over. plans to abandon the safe.
  • ENTRY #33: 01-19-11 - Jessica is missing but there's a note left with the safe's code. Jay empties it out, then gets jumped by Tim and chased over the hotel
  • ENTRY #34: 02-08-22 - going through the safe's tapes. Jay uploads these in rough chronological order, but the tapes are mostly months old by the date of posting
    • APRIL 21, 2010 - Jay is driving to (return address). It's raining and thundering, the address is seemingly an abandoned hollowed out building. Doesn't find anything that afternoon.
  • FRAGMENTS: 02-10-11 - desc: "hello again". Alex's torn up face. "You are broken; you cannot be fixed".
  • ENTRY #35: 02-15-11 - OLD TAPE - Jay goes back to the abandoned house but is pissy about it this time, runs into Alex. Tim is also there. Tim attacks Alex, but is overpowered by Alex and Jay. Alex restrains him with a cord - NOTE: actually has part of it looped around Tim's throat too. Jay removes the mask, and Alex breaks Tim's leg with a rock.
  • BROADCAST: 02-26-11 - desc: "are you drowning". Distorted footage of Hoody, possibly from underwater. Distorted audio says "Enjoying watching you suffer. Do you know me? I will always know you."
  • ENTRY #36: 03-02-11 - Corrupted footage from the OLD tape featured in 35; Jay yelling at Alex about breaking Tim's lef, Alex taunts Jay with how easy he was to find, tells Jay to lay low until Alex calls him.
  • SIDETONE: 03-15-11 - desc: "#000-0000". Phone imagery and audio of Alex's voicemail messafe; code at the end spells out "LIES".
  • ENTRY #37: 03-23-11 - Alex's birthday party footage (04-04-91), hacked account upload. Desc: "memories"
  • ENTRY #38: 04-05-11 - OLD UNLABELED TAPE, mostly them walking in silence. Alex's rando ghost sotry. Love Jay's snarky unimpressed attitude. Jay in the present doesn't know where the tape fits into the timeline. Also acknowledges the hacked upload.
  • ENTRY #39: 04-12-11 - OLD TAPE (About a week after the tape featured in Entry #35) - Jay finally gets a call from Alex, who telsl him to meet at Rosswood. Jay calls back and gets voicemail. Jay is sleeping in his car at that point in time - Hoody creeps by in the middle of the night
  • FORECAST: 04-22-11 - desc: "c2VlIHlvdSBzYXcgeW91" (see you saw you). Code in footage translates to "AM I PROPHET". Brian shows off his footage from the events of e30 - "HERE IS SOMETHING I HAVE WANTED TO SHOW YOU".
  • ENTRY #40: 05-04-11 - OLD TAPE (Day after tape featured in e39) - goes to meet Alex at Rosswood, Brian can be seen in the distance against a tree when Jay first arrives. Creek footage. Jay goes into the forest on his own, keeps calling Alex with no resposne, gets lost, tree structure, encounters the Operator, drops his camera and runs off.
  • INTERMISSION: 05-16-11 - desc: "YmV oaW5kIHRo ZSBjd XJ0YWlu" (behind the curtain). "DID YOU SEE ME" "I SAW YOU". Code at the end translates to "Always There". A drawing points out his presence in the previous tape.
  • ENTRY #41: 05-25-11 - OLD TAPE (Continued from 40). Brian recovers Jay's camera, films trees, sky, running water, more water, sky through the leaves, the parking lot from a distance. Puts Jay's camera back in his car and gets a final shot of himself to show off.
  • INDICATOR: 06-02-11 - desc:"blind". "MESSAGES EVERYWHERE", "SIGNS EVERYWHERE", "YOU WILL NEVER BE FREE". Binary code translates to "HE LIES", backwards.
  • ENTRY #42: 06-09-11 - HARD DRIVE FOOTAGE (side to e41) - Alex gets pissed at Jay's message lol. Brian is sitting against that tree in the distance again. Jay sprints past and tells him to run, Alex gets pissed about Jay losing his camera too, tells Jay about Amy being missing and asks for help. Brian is gone when they get back to their cars. Jay finds his camera, but the battery's dead. They seem to plan to get a hotel room together
  • MEMORIES: 06-20-11 - desc: "NT Qz MjE" (54321). "YEARS WASTED", "YOUVE DONE NOTHING" "SO MUCH MORE THAN TIME HAS BEEN TAKEN". Skully hint. (NOTE: On twitter around this time, Jay was lamenting about how it had been 2 years since the first intro and how he wished he'd never asked Alex for the initial tapes.)
  • ENTRY #43: 06-27-11 - OLD TAPE - Alex picks up Jay and they go to his house. Alex claims to not remember where he/Amy went after jumping out of the window in the tape from 26, that he just woke up in 'his apartment' with the camera. (IDK What their living situation is that Alex has his own place but Amy found the camera in a closet at hers? Maybe he was hiding it while he was there, but was carrying it around 24/7 again? Or maybe I've misinterpreted where he and Amy are in 26, and that is his place, not hers). Either way, Amy's place is a divided house; she lives on the left side with a roommate (Jessica) while someone unrelated lives on the right. Alex knocks with no response. Calls Jessica and leaves a message; doesn't name himself, so she has his number saved. Alex doesn't want Jay to know where he lives and drops him off back at his hotel.
    • HARD DRIVE FOOTAGE - Alex heads to the woods, encounters the Operator, collapses, then gets back up and stalks at him anyway.
  • INQUIRY: 07-07-11 - "LOOK AT YOU" "YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE" "YOU ARE YOu" "BUT WHO ARE YOU". Audio viewed with logarithmic spectrum reads "DO I HELP OR DO I KILL". Description could be "minus centroid" spelled phoenetically. All seems to be a reference for how people's personalities/memories/etc are impacted by the presence of the Operator.
  • ENTRY #44: 07-15-11 - HARD DRIVE FOOTAGE (Seemingly same night as 43). Alex calls Jessica again and tells her to disregard his last message, since he'd "found Amy". Stares at himself in the mirror, rinses blood out of his mouth, lingering cough. Is drawing again; lots of paper, obsessively. Shadow passes over him while he's sleeping against the wall, then he goes to bed properly. The Operator comes back to loom in the corner of his room, and Alex disappears
  • ENTRY #45: 07-23-11 - HARD DRIVE FOOTAGE (Approx. 3 months after e35). Alex puts a tape away and puts a new one in his handheld camera. Goes out without a camera, runs back in to get his camera; Hoody was waiting for Alex to chase him into the woods lol. Alex finally catches up to Brian waiting for him, then gets tackled by Tim. Brian crouches and watches while Tim limps up and tries to smash Alex's head with a rock, then strangle him when that fails. Tim and Brian both get startled by something out of frame and run off. Alex shouts at them, promises to kill them the next time he sees them.
  • ENTRY #46: 08-02-11 - OLD TAPE - Jay breaks into Alex's apartment lol; thnk he takes a tape off of Alex's desk, and then gets caught by Alex because he got startled by the Operator. Think Alex might have taken back that tape before Jay can leave with it. The Operator is now inside, Jay runs off again, stealing Alex's spare key on his way out. Alex doesn't follow.
  • CLASSIFIED: 08-15-11 - "I KNOW YOURE THERE", different camera footage from e45, reversed and divided code translates to "the twins, do you know what he did". "I SAW IT" with an eye.
  • ENTRY #47: 08-18-11 - OLD TAPE (about an hour after fleeing in e46) - Alex goes to confront Jay who was in his car. Alex accuses Jay of making everything worse, and gets pissed when Jay brings up Amy, tells Jay he won't help him anymore. Jay steals Alex's keys and locks them in his car until Alex gives him Jessica's phone number. Jay tosses them on the ground instead of handing them back lmao, he even makes fun of how easily he was able to take them. Later, Jay calls Jessica to talk about Amy. Tells Jessica not to answer if Alex calls her back, but tries to reassure her. Present Jay comments that he might have been lying about planning to talk to Alex again, and comments that he never should have called her at all.
  • ENTRY #48: 09-01-11 - What is apparently a few months of footage of Jay just following Alex around, wherein Alex starts carrying around a satchel and frequents Rosswood with his own camera. After a few weeks of watching from a distance, Jay follows Alex into the woods, and then "almost immediately" loses him lol. Eventually finds him again at the Rosswood tunnel, but then runs off instead of approaching him.
  • SIDENOTE: 09-01-11 - desc:"remainseated iwillfind you". 'BE SILENT' 'THIS IS THE BEST PART'. Audio of Alex saying "you have done nothing but made everything worse".
  • ENTRY #49: 09-07-11 - HARD DRIVE FOOTAGE (pov e48) - Alex goes to Rosswood, whispering "Don't follow me" and "I know you're there". Sits in the tunnel for about fifteen minutes before he's approached by a stranger, who he attacks and strangles, and then smashes his head with a large rock four separate times. The Operator shows up and disappears with the body. Alex comes back to pick up his camera. Alex gets back in his car and calls Jay to meet him in Rosswood the next day. Present Jay comments that he doesn't know the stranger and doubts Alex did either.
  • EXTRACTION: 09-27-11 - desc:"never". "HOW MUCH" "HOW MUCH DO YOU HATE" "IT IS NOT ENOUGH". Footage of Tim limping, shot of the tunnel with an eye at the end, brief footage of Alex.
  • ENTRY #50: 10-01-11 - OLD TAPE. Jay meeting Alex after the call in e49, he's brought a pocket knife along. He calls Jessica to tell her where he is and why. Jay takes note of all of Alex's cameras in his car; he doesn't bring them for once. Jay blindly follows Alex into the woods, tries to get his key back but Jay pulls the stubborn card. Present Jay suspects this tape is the lead up to the unlabeled one in e38.
    • Jay replaces the tape after that one runs out, convinces Alex to leave, and Alex tells Jay to bring Jessica along next time. Jay leaves but Alex stays back. Jay encounters Tim on his way out,and chases him to the tunnel, but then seems to lose him. Jay sits and pouts on the other side of the tunnel, and his footage cuts out on his way back through it
    • New tape the next day - Jay goes to Alex's apartment, and uses the stolen spare key to get inside. Alex has a bunch of packed boxes around. Jay finds a tape in a little hidden drawer next to Alex's bed, in the bedside table/shelf. Takes it back to his car and labels it "56-42" on camera, then drives off.
    • Present Jay vows to find it in all his shit
  • ENTRY #51: 10-12-11 - Jay spent a few days moving around and then located the stolen tape, which he's uploaded.
    • OLD MH TAPE, ie 56-42 TAPE - Alex tells Brian Seth was around yesterday, but wasn't feeling well and stayed home. Brian train tracks footage. Lots of introspective footage for MH film project. When they make it to the hospital, Alex claims he and Seth stumbled across it the day before (this is a LIE). More MH footage; love Brian's "feels like this whole film is walking" - he's also worried about getting in trouble for trespassing. "What is this part supposed to mean?". Starts peeling paint off the wall when Alex ignores him lol. Brian struggling to get the tripod set up - "I'm so awesome at this" - G-D... And Alex's snarky little "good take" when Brian starts coughing after they get the shot set up :(. The Operator shows up and seems to surge towards the camera, which distorts and cuts.
    • Brian seems to get up off the ground and picks the camera up from where it fell. Shouts for Alex but gets no response. Sounds panicked. He hears coughing and runs towards it. Definitely panicking for Alex. Runs into Tim instead, who is huddled in the corner. The Operator shows up in the doorway behind them. Brian is still shouting for Alex as the camera cuts again.
    • Brian and the camera are back on the floor, Alex drags him out of frame and picks up the camera, walks off and leaves Brian behind.
  • ENTRY #52: 11-13-11 - FINAL OLD TAPE - Old Jay watched the stolen tape and speculates what Alex was doing. Jessica, the madlad, actually shows up to follow Jay and Alex into the woods. While they follow Alex, Jessica says she thinks someone is following them, but they don't mention it to Alex. They follow him up to an abandoned building, and allow themselves to be cornered, wherein Alex pulls a gun. Alex knows his tape of Brian is gone (how often did he check on/watch it??). Alex tells Jay off for publicizing the tapes and laments not burning them, also laments Jay's bringing Jess back into things. Tim attacks Alex from behind and they wrestle for the gun, it goes off, but Jay and Jess don't see what happened. Jay tells Jessica to pack light and meet him at his hotel, then uses his little stick arms to get into Alex's car through the window and steals his cameras and tapes. They plan to stay the night at the hotel and Leave the next day (hence why their rooms were only booked for that one night). Jack locks Alex's footage in the safe, and hides the camera case in his car. Puts on the go-pro.
    • He goes to sleep and wakes up when Jessica starts screaming. He tries to get into her room, but is interrupted by the Operator appearing in his room instead. Jay runs straight at it and seems to at least try to tackle it straight out. He seems to disappear from frame, and then in the next shot is sprawled out on the floor. Tape ends there.
    • After this footage, things pick up in Entry 27, which Jay had uploaded on 11-23-10, almost a whole year has passed while Jay filled in the missing seven months of memories.
    • Present 2011 Jay swears to find Alex so he won't get away with everything he's done, so he heads back to the town by Rosswood park, which he apparently hasn't been in since January. Winds up spotting Tim walking down the street. His limp is gone btw. Jay says he'll keep following Tim and "see things through to the end", but won't upload until something of note happens.

  • ENTRY #53: 03-10-12 - Jay is still trailing Tim, who lives in the Rosswood area again, since neither of them mentioned going so far out of their way in their first interview, and Jay is surprised to see him here, I'm going to say that Tim might have moved since e15. Jay spends a whole week waiting around for Tim at the clinic, and then does not even pretend to be casual when he finally sees him. Tim might be taking classes of some sort. Tim calls Jay to let him know about his tapes.

They are talking about the movie and goofing around because they are friends :(. The power goes out, and Tim goes to flip the breaker, passes the Operator but doesn't acknowledge it. He might check for it once he has a flashlight though? Indeterminate. "Guess what's battery powered". The Operator barrels in like a fucking chimpanzee and the tape cuts.

    • Particularly insane about how this tta upload is a direct response to the footage in e53. That Brian saw himself and Tim and Alex goofing around and having a good time, back when they were friends, and how angry he gets, because Alex ruined it all - "you caused this" and Brian is never going to move past that "you will never be forgiven".
  • ENTRY #55: 04-10-12 - OLD MH TAPE - unlabeled - Tim, Brian, and Alex walking around to film. Tim offers up the Rosswood clinic for Alex to shoot abandoned locations in. They plan to go on Saturday. The polite way Alex directs him.. :( Deranges me the little hints we get of Alex's old disposition - the open and caring way he composed himself and interacted with the others.. Tim gets his appointment confirmation call.
  • ENTRY #56: 04-25-12 - OLD MH TAPE - been a while since the conversation in the previous entry. Just Tim and Alex - Seth is supposed to show up that afternoon, Brian is supposed to get there the next day (the events of e51). Despite the distance from their college homes, Tim seems very familiar with the current state of the hospital still. Alex spots the clinic and wants to go over, but Tim refuses. Alex says he'll get Seth to go with him instead. Alex seems a lot more tense and short than he did in the last tape. Tim goes to piss and Alex beats him with a pipe. The Operator stands in the corner and watches. Alex leaves. Tim does not seem to have been taken - we hear him coughing.
  • ENTRY #56: 05-06-12 - OLD MH TAPE - right after e56 - it's now dark. Tim uses the camera's night vision and runs around the hospital. Can't find his way out of the area so he sits and rests for a while. Hides/runs from Alex when he stumbles across him. Desperately tries to smother a coughing fit and the tape ends.
    • Jay notes that Alex seemed aware that Tim had managed to escape and was trying to find him to finish the job.

  • ENTRY #58: 05-21-12 - Jay convinces Tim to help him "scout out" Rosswood's clinic. Records Tim negotiating appointment scheduling, says his doctor calls to check in on him every few days. Tim tells him he and Alex never went to the clinic, but agrees to take Jay out htere when he has some time off work.
    • That Friday, they head out - love Tim's little snark. Jay says it sounds like TIm goes out there a lot, but Tim says not really. Tim seems really surprised by the idea that he'd brought up the other building, but very reluctantly agrees to take Jay there. He gets a sharper edge to his sarcasm as they head over. Tim comments that the original movie project kind of sucked, and still seems a little embittered by the shift in Alex's attitude back then, but Jay says he never knew Alex that well in the first place. Jay spots the hooded man and chases after him, much to Tim's chagrin. Brian leads him to the maintenance tunnel, Tim refuses to go down the tunnel, Jay leaves because he doesn't have a flashlight. Tim has lost all patience and wants to leave, says he doesn't think he wants any more to do with all the shit Jay's up to.
  • ENTRY #59: 06-14-12 - Tim called Jay and told Jay to meet him, the events of the previous entry occurred a few days ago in relation to Jay's filming of this one. Jay plans to come clean completely when Tim shows up and hopes for the best, but Tim doesn't give him a chance. He goes straight into beating Jay's ass about it, "I was doing fine. I was getting better". Tim doesn't have memories of the filmed events, but didn't lose months all at once the way Jay did. Think it might be a fair guess to say he and Brian got separated around e52 (11-23-10) and haven't been together since, and Tim managed to hit a stride of stability while on his own. Tim lashes out, blames Alex, then Jay, demands that Jay stay out of his life, and then drives off.

Encounters the Operator down there and gets chased around the tunnels, but manages to make it out. Jay also took the doll lol, but he never wants to have to go back out there again.
  • ENTRY #60.5: 07-14-12 - Jay posts the medical records. Shout out to Brian for redacting some of them at least. Pediatric admissions form from 1995, has a history of falls, level 6 headaches, insomnia, refacted symptom, ran away from home and found at Rosswood, seizures. Tim's already in his car when Jay gets back tehre and doesn't respond to Jay's calling for him before he drives off.

Finds the stranger that Alex killed, in the ark. Gets in his car and leaves. Goes to the clinic, sits inside and cries "It wasn't me" "let me out" - claws at the walls "it was right there" "what do you want?". Takes too many of his plls. Finds the "FOLLOW ME" "HE IS A LIAR" room and beats the latter grafitti with a pipe. Collapses.

Doesn't remember what his hallucinations were, but still connects the Operator to them. "What if this is my fault?" THey go look for more paperwork. Brian is also walking around out there. They follow him, and collect a tape he hid in the rubble of the building. Then chase him into the woods and lose him at the edge of an empty field, which pisses Tim off
  • ENTRY #67: 02-15-13 - Tape Brian hid at the hospital - Brian drags Tim out of the clinic after 64/65. Gets a metal pipe, and uses it to knock out Alex, who seems to have been searching for Tim. Ties Alex up, and Tim beats the shit out of him. Brian gets out Alex's gun and aims it, but the Operator shows up and startles him off. Tape cuts out due to damage, resumes at night in the woods. Brian has the gun and seems to be chasing something. Morning/day footage of Tim waking up in teh woods next to his mask, which he leaves behind.
  • ENTRY #67.5: 03-02-13 - Jay in a hotel room, seeimingly packing up. Tim calls to confirm his room number, then shows up to pick him up. They get in their cars and head out of the area to avoid Alex.

  • ENTRY #69: 04-12-13 - desc: "where all of this started" - Tim and Jay at a road stop, chatting. They've gone back to their college town, where Marble Hornets was originally filmed. At the old park Alex used as a set, Tim trips in a hole, and they head to the Red Tower. Tim climbs to the top and Jay gets startled by someoen in the woods, but Tim doesn't see anything. They check the camera tape, but don't see anything there either. Jay trips on a hole, which has burnt tapes in it, a couple of which seem playable.
  • ENTRY #70: 04-28-13 - one of the burned tapes - Alex driving at night, gets a call from Amy and tells her about Tim recommending set places out near where she goes to school (Rosswood area). Says he might try to transfer out to her school soon because he doesn't like being so far away from her. Tells her he's at home going to bed, though he's still out driving. Goes out to a park with a playground, and attempts to confront the Operator when it shows up. Jay speculates that the included convo with Amy is why Alex tried to burn this tape even though it featured the park from entry 4.
  • ENTRY #71: 05-15-13 - Another burned tape - Alex boxing up tapes in his house, sitting in the dark, Jay showing up at the door. Alex says he's moving because he can't afford the rent, and Jay seems to help him pack/move boxes for 35 minutes. Jay convinces Alex to give him the MH tapes, then berates him for keeping them in an attic because the humidity could ruin them. Alex tells Jay not to bring up the tapes anymore. Alex watches him start to put the tapes in his car, then takes the camera out there and attacks him. Strangles him and leaves him in the dirt somewhere and drives back.
    • Jay says the events are wrong - he got the tapes and just went home. Wonders what else he could be remembering wrong or not remembering at all
  • ENTRY #72: 06-09-13 - Tim and Jay head to Alex's old house, the door to which is unlocked. They find more of his old drawings. Jay sees the Operator, but Tim can't, they rewind the tape and see nothing on it, and Tim tries to convince Jay to let him take him to a doctor soon. Jay sets the camera down to help Tim with a jammed door, and The Operator is standing where Jay said he saw it, but no one notices it this time. They head down to the basement. Tim asks what time it is because it's now pitch dark outside despite behind golden hour at the top of the steps. The Operator appears by the steps and they run outside, and get separated, Tim has the camera now. He runs around and has a coughing fit, takes his meds. Finds Jay seizing back at the house, and stands to confront the Operator before collapsing. Helps Jay back to the car.
  • ENTRY #73: 07-10-13 - little inconsistencies in upload - lowercase title, 73 in description, and glitch at the title card. Brian goes back to his squat and collects the gun from the ceiling. Collapses in a coughing fit as the camera distorts, then gets back up adn finds his pill collection almost gone. Takes his last pill, then starts walking all the way to Tim's house. Breaks in through an unlocked window, but Tim hasn't got much meds left either. Hears movement, shows off a tape Tim has hidden in a box, then spots Alex coming down from the attic and rungs out. #73 return, "YOU ARE A FAILURE" as Brian retrieves the gun Alex failed to find.
    • This is the second time (minimum) that Brian has broken into the main MH account to give a warning on Alex's movements, like in 68. Most likely to make sure Tim and Jay see it and stay aware and on their guard.
  • ENTRY #74: 08-01-13 - Tim goes to pick up snacks at a gas station, chats with the cashier, then goes back to a motel, where he sees Jay wandering around outside and hurriedly brings him inside. Jay was panicking about the camera being gone. Tim speculates that his meds helped him stand up to the Operator, and has been sharing them with Jay, who doesn't appreciate it. Jay's been catatonic since 72, so Tim fills him in on e73 too. Tim wants to go back to his house to chase out Brian and Alex and get more of his pills because he's out of refills

They find his sleeping bag, and a photo of Amy under his pillow - "I HAVE HIM" and an address written on the back from Brian. Jay tries looking for the tape, but Tim has already grabbed it and put it in his pocket. Jay confronts Tim for the tape, and manages to steal it. Tim tries to tell him not to watch it yet, but Jay takes it and leaves.
  • ENTRY #76: 09-12-13 - The tape from Tim's house - (01-12-11) - Tim and Brian take Jessica from the motel and into the woods. Jessica is hilariously terse and dismissive of them out there. Alex shows up and uses the gun to chase Brian off, and tells Jess to follow him. Takes her to the Rosswood tunnel. He tries to shoot her (in the back) and apologizes, but says it has to be done. Jessica blinds him with the flashlight and kicks him down and takes the gun. Brian storms in to beat the shit out of Alex, and Jessica runs off and into the Operator. Footage of her sprawled out in the dirt in the woods before she disappears and Tim wanders in frame and removes his mask, looking around confusedly.

Tim ties Jay up and tells him he can't remember anything that happened that night, and says they have to leave Jessica alone. Jay screams for Tim to give the camera back, but TIm refuses. Plans to go look at the address. He uploaded this entry and says Jay has gotten increasingly erratic.
  • ENTRY #78: 11-01-13 - Brian goes to Tim's place and lets Jay out of his ties (bypasses scissors in favor of a knife just to prank him into being worried lol). Leaves the camera for him. Jay looks for more of Tim's pills, but finds none, then runs out of the house and says he's going to find Tim, then find Alex and "end this".
  • ENTRY #79: 11-21-13 - Jay also went to investigate the college after getting out of Tim's house. Spots Tim's car outside one building and heads inside, spots Brian upstairs and cashses him, finds him having a coughing fit against a wall, and Brian beats him back with a wrench until he has the space to run off again. Jay spies Tim outside from a window and watches him get the camera from his car. Tim goes into a building across the street, and Jay tails him. BENEDICT HALL. Jay finds a bunch of photos of a tied up Alex pasted to the wall and a note "BENEDICT HALL. FIND ALEX. FIND THE ARK"
    • Jay speculates that Tim knows more about the building than him. Cant get into Benefict, so is watching the building from nearby instead.
  • QUADRANT: 12-03-13 - desc:"didyou eversee". 3 blind mice. Audio saying "HOLD YOUR FORMATION. DO NOT DO THIS. HOLD OFF. STAY PUT. EVERYONE IS GOING TO..." and then at the end, "HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO LEAVE". Code translates to "I CANNOT HELP".
  • ENTRY #80: 12-05-13 - Jay sees Tim running out of Benedict and runs inside. Encounters Alex. Gets shot in the gut, manages to lock himself in a room, but the Operator appears, and Jay disappears. Someone picks up the camera and silently films the blood left behind. Tim finds the camera and the blood, and runs into Brian, who he chases but can't catch. Presumably it was Brian who had picked up the camera in between. Tim says he'd left Jay at his house so he wouldn't get hurt. "This wasn't supposed to happen" "I don't know what to do".
  • ENTRY #81: 01-19-14 - old footage from when Tim went to the school, before Jay followed him there. Runs into a groundskeeper, asks for the film department, which is Benedict hall. Tim gets into the building and walks around in the dark. Hides in a tunnel from Brian. Runs out to his car but can't seem to find his meds. Blacked out for a few hours. "We were lured out here but never warned he escaped". (NOTE: Quadrant was probably Brian's attempt at warning them, but either way it didn't land in time).
  • ENTRY #82: 02-06-14 - Tim still doesn't have any meds and he's worried about a relapse. He finds Jay's car and finds unuploaded footage on his laptop, dated the day before Jay broke into Tim's house in e77.
    • Jay heads out to the Rosswood tunnel and runs through it. Falls in the woods like a clown. Encounters the Operator quickly, and calls Tim. Leaves a voicemail, confused and upset because Rosswood's shape is moving or he's losing time. HE apologizes, says he understands why Tim hid the tape, and says they should work together again. Says he's hallucinating and feels sick. Collapses coughing, and seizes. The Operator appears behind him, then footage running.

Back at his house "YOUR FAULT" written on a mirror, operator pages, and Jay's body. Brian stumbles in and Tim chases him off, teleporting around again. Tim picks up a pole, but Brian lets go of the ledge he's dangling from and falls. Tim runs down to his body, gets meds out of his pockets, and a tape, goes to pull off the mask but is startled off by the Operator. Wakes up in a field.
  • ENTRY #84 - 04-01-14 - Footage of Tim driving home, but the go-pro has stopped working. Jay's body and the pages are gone, the mirror now says "LAST CHANCE". Tim immediately puts in the tape to watch it
    • Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets Auditions 11AM-7PM - Alex looks so anxiously anticipatory about them, eagerly turning on the camera and looking at the door when he hears footsteps. He's so upset that no one is showing up i'm gonna vomit. Him lying to Brian about there being competition AUGH. And Brian's little jokes :(( "When we were young we were so happy..." and FUCK Brian's earnest "Good job, man" about Alex's script writing - everyone else only comments on it to make fun of how awful it is but Brian seems wholly earnest in his appreciation for it :(((. Brian goading Tim into auditioning after Alex gets excited by the option, and how gently Alex tries to coach Tim through the character reading.

  • NOTE: This year is the first time Alex's birthday passes without a totheark upload, because Brian is dead :(
  • ENTRY #85: 05-14-14 - Tim does chores around his house, this is the first time I think he's filmed himself idling around like Alex and Jay did. He's bitter about Alex taking forever to show up lol. "Why am I the only oen who's still here? I don't want to be by myself again". Tim says he almost bought a gun but wouldn't really trust himself with one. Resolves to leave his house since that's where Alex will be expecting him to be, watches it from down the road instead. Alex shows up eventually and breaks in. Tim follows him inside and watches him quietly. Alex tries to call him out as he pours gasoline everywhere - "I thought it was me, but you're the source". Tells Tim to die in the fire or come find him, then lights Tim's house on fire. Tim runs out and resolves to find him.
  • ENTRY #86: 06-15-14 - Back to Benedict Hall. Tim wanders around looking for Alex with Jay's sad little pocketknife. Alex starts shooting at him, Tim falls through a hole in the floor. Tim still tries to reason with him, they teleport around a llittle bit. Alex explains he's been trying to contain it like an infection. Tim gets the gun, but it's already out of bullets when he aims it at Alex. Alex has the knife, he climbed on top of Tim and started beating him. The Operator shows up and Alex vanishes, and now Tim has the knife, and not the gun. Tim still tries to reason with Alex - "we can fight it together". More teleporting, this time to Brian's corpse, which has been propped up against a wall. "How's it feel to do that to one of your friends, Tim?" More teleporting "I've done everything to keep this under control. Everyone is dead." Alex starts strangling Tim, who continues to try to reason with him. "When you killed Amy, did you feel like you were in control then?" I think Tim stabs Alex in the nexk, then tells him he missed someone (Alex listed Jessica as dead). The Operator shows up, and Tim wavers, neither collapsing nor running, then he drops the camera and attacks Alex, stabbing him repeatedly. Alex starts to gag and choke, and Tim gets off of him, then grabs the camera again. Alex, dying, still tries to convince Tim that he's right - "This isn't over, you see how it spreads. If there's someone left, you have to kill them, then yourself". Tim limps off, and we hear Alex stop choking. Tim collapses into tears, vomits, starts to cry/laugh, and then collapses on the steps.
  • ENTRY #87: 06-20-14 - Tim drives, gets the mask out of his bag, and throws it into a dumpster. Gets back in his car and goes to meet Jessica, tells him she's sleeping better, but they both have side effects still. Tim tells her that Jay just moved, nad that he's also moving. Collapses into a coughing fit. Then he's back in his car. Crossroads footage. "EVERYTHING IS FINE".
